The month of February was National Children’s Dental Health Month. We had visitors come and speak to the Kindergarten classes. Students learned about keeping their teeth clean all the time. The students learned to floss and see the dentist often. They also worked on trying to get the students to understand that sometimes you have to eat healthy to have white and shiny teeth.
Tooth decay is the most common problem for young children. The American Dental Association is trying to prevent that. Forty percent of children already have cavities and we don’t want kids at young ages getting cavities when they still have their baby teeth. The main reason we had people visit our school to talk about National Dental Health Month was to raise awareness for our Kindergarten classes.
Mee Genius is an app for the iPad that allows students (4-6) practice reading. Mee Genius will let you read a book or it can read it to you. This app is good because students can learn at their own pace. Mee Genius is a great way for students to read at home or own at school.
Bear Says Thanks is a good book because it teaches kids how to say thank you to someone who does something nice for you. This book also shows you how to use the 7 Habits because Bear uses the 7 Habits. I liked how Bear confessed that he didn’t have any food to give the animals that gave him food earlier.

The Columbia City Ballet performed Alice in Wonderland for our school today. There was a lot of synergy during this performance.
We didn’t get to see the whole show. However, if we color a picture (that our teacher gives us) we will get one free ticket to the Koger Center to see the show.
That is AWESOME!!
